About OREN

Welcome to the Otway Ranges Environment Network

The Otway Ranges Environment Network (OREN) comprises individuals and groups who care about the native forests in the Otway region of Victoria. OREN has almost achieved its decade log aim of ending clearfell logging of biodiverse native forest on public land in the Otways.

Thanks to the work of conservationists and Otway residents, working though the OREN "network", July 2008 will see the remaining sawlog and woodchip licences in the Otways expire. After this all clearfell loggind in the Otways on public land will come to an end.
