Failed Regeneration in High Elevation Mixed Species Forests
In 1992 an internal department memo to ERDAG (East Gippsland
Silviculture Research and Development Action Group) stated that
79% of coupes had failed to regenerate adequately in the High
Elevation Mixed Species Forests over the previous three years.

Area of Failed Regeneration in Victoria 25,000 ha
25,000 ha across Victoria are requiring rehabilitation. They
state "This represents a significant financial liability to
CNR.".
