Vote for the Otways

Because the Otway State Forest is owned by the public, and managed by the State Government, it will be the decision of a government to stop logging in the Otway forest.

Now is an important time. Leading up to the next State Election political parties need to recognise community opposition to logging and promise to stop logging in the Otways.

If elected the Liberal Party would pass legislation to woodchip Otway forest forever. Labor and the Greens would stop Otway forest logging and create a Great Otway National Park, ensuring clean fresh water for your kids. Which would you rather vote for?

Because the South Barwon Green's have chosen to not direct preferences, people in this electorate wishing to vote for a stop to Otway forest logging and a Great Otway National Park should consider putting Labor first. If your preference is to vote Greens ensure that you put Labor before Liberal.

Any vote for Liberal, no matter who you preference, is a vote for the continued logging of the Otway forests

OREN Election Flyer Note: in developing this flyer we have taken into account not just the policies of each party, but also the machinations of the Victorian electoral system and the probability of each party forming government after the election. This has not been an easy process and has involved much soul searching, however, when it comes to the crunch it is a two horse race between Liberal and Labor. In this situation Labor has the better policy in respect to the Otways.
